A flood of questions overwhelms our minds after listening to the concert in question: Is music a viable means of communication, or is it a way to reach the deepest aspects of the human background?

How can a composer, understood as a creative entity, take a musical cell and build an entire universal cosmos that is simultaneously so particular?

These and many other questions assailed us as we listened with utmost attention not only to the notes emerging from the measures of Antón García Abril but also to how the musical corpus that the maestro endows each of his musical elements with was properly valued and expressed in a unique musical language.

This tribute, offered by the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra [OFM] and its Malaga-born conductor, Víctor Eloy López, together with the soloists Javier García Moreno and Paula Coronas—both also from Malaga—is well deserved for one of the greatest composers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
